Mapping the risk of infection with HPAI-H5N8 in poultry farms in France
Identify the agro-environmental factors favouring the occurrence of poultry outbreaks in France and to generate predictive risk maps for HPAI. Poisson Boosted regression trees (BRT) models will be used to test for evidence of risk factors of HPAI-H5N8 infection in poultry holdings and to predict and map the proportion of infected poultry holding. Three datasets will be combined to train the model:
- a dataset of the reported locations of HPAI-H5N8 outbreaks in poultry during the 2016-2017 French epidemic,
- a dataset of the locations of poultry holdings where HPAI H5N8 virus has not been reported
- a set of relevant agro-ecological factors, including people, poultry production and trade, and water bird habitat.
