Biography
Mattias graduated from the Ecole Nationale Vétérinaire de Toulouse (ENVT) in 2013. He worked in ENVT as a clinical assistant at the clinics for poultry medicine for ENVT (2013-2016) while starting a residency for the European College of Poultry Veterinary Medicine. After a mission for local public health services (DDCSPP32 and SRAL Occitanie) about biosecurity management in 2016, he joined in 2017 the Chair for Avian Biosecurity in ENVT and began a PhD work.
Research
Mattias is interested in the prevention and the diagnostic of poultry diseases. His work for the Chair for Avian Biosecurity focuses on the compliance of biosecurity measures in duck farms. He studies the influence of psychological and socio-cultural determinants on the farmers’ routines. He then aims at finding the best interventions strategies to improve on-farm biosecurity practices in order to tackle the spread of infectious agents such as Avian Influenza Viruses.
